
Kathy Perconti is currently the choral and theatre director at James A. Beneway High School in the Wayne Central School District. Kathy earned her master’s degree from the University of Buffalo and her bachelor’s degree from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.
At Wayne Central, Perconti’s choirs have received numerous gold and silver awards from the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA). Her groups have also received superior ratings from Music in the Parks and Heritage Music Festivals. Kathy’s ensembles have also performed several times at Walt Disney World in both the Candlelight Concert and on the main stage at Disney Springs. This past November, her select ensembles were asked to perform at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. In addition to her teaching, Kathy directs and choreographs Wayne Musicals, where she received awards for her leadership in the Stars of Tomorrow and Elenbe festivals.
Kathy has played leading roles for several community theatre groups including Neighborhood Acting Company, Off Monroe Players and Rochester Children’s Theatre. She has also been a soprano soloist at many local churches for decades. Kathy has been married to her husband, Jim, for 34 years. Together they have two grown children, Jamie and Kayla.
