Rosanna (Rosy) Moore is an RPO harpist and actress by trade. A recent doctoral graduate of the Eastman School of Music, she works as a freelance performer as well as a harp professor at the Eastman Community Music School and Nazareth College.
Rosy tends to prepare for performances by getting copies of the compositions, practicing as early as possible. She would also try and listen to at least three different recordings from different groups if they’re available. Rosy also takes considerable time understanding the composition’s structure, which later helps her with memorizing her pieces. Meanwhile, Rosy tends to get into the hall earlier for concert nights to tune in her harp. She then finds a corner of the hall to read and enjoy a cup of peppermint tea and a banana.
You can often see her beyond the stage either at Glen Edith Coffee, Apogee, or Roux. She also loves to do yoga and channels her inner Nigella Lawson or Jamie Oliver in the kitchen. However, shoes certainly rank among her greatest passion! A self-described shoeaholic, her favorite pairs are those from Irregular Choice (Link – irregularchoice.com), a UK-based maker of original, expressive, and fun shoes.
On the stage and beyond it, Rosy’s love for the arts shines through. Join us in our final week of our Beyond the Stage Season-End Challenge! Now through June 30, every dollar donated will be matched up to $300,000! Your support allows us to continue inspiring, educating, and engaging with audiences of all ages through the art of music.
