Music Educators Award – Ellice Amendolare

Outstanding Music Educator Award in the category of Choral Director (K-12)

Ellice is in her twelfth year of teaching at Eastridge High School in East Irondequoit. At Eastridge, she directs the Concert Choir and Chorale, and teaches IB Music 11 & 12: a two-year intensive course covering Western music history, music theory, and World Music. She is also the vocal and orchestral director for the Eastridge musicals, which for the past three years have earned division A’s “Best Musical” award through Rochester Broadway Theatre League’s “Stars of Tomorrow” program. 

In her time at Eastridge, she has received a Board of Education award for her dedication to her students and the Golden Apple Teacher Award through News Channel 8. Outside of Eastridge, Ellice has music directed with Webster Theatre Guild, Brighton Summer Arts, Lyric Voices Up, and JCC SummerStage. She was a guest conductor for the Herkimer County All-County Mixed Choir and served on the MCSMA board as the Women’s Choir Coordinator for three years. She is so thankful that she can inspire and encourage her students every day through music. 

She thanks her fiancé, Jeff, for his continuous support, her mom for her beautiful heart, and her father for passing down his passion for music.
